Dale Ramsden

Founding member

Actively involved in African real estate since 1995, Dale Ramsden put forth his experience to help found RMB Westport with Michael O’Malley and Simon Fifield. Dale spent five years from 2003 to 2007, working as a Property Investment Principal for Actis in West Africa. He then went on to become the Development Director for Actis Africa Real Estate Fund, which is the largest dedicated real estate fund in Africa. He started his career at RMB Westport in 2008.

Before joining Actis, Dale was Managing Director of Lonrho Properties (Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi), and the founder and Managing Director of Matrix Projects in Zambia.

African property development experience

Dale’s most notable property development achievements in sub-Saharan Africa have been the development of the very first regional shopping centres in both Ghana and Nigeria

  • Accra Mall: Ghana's first shopping mall, 25 500m2, which was completed in 2007 at a cost of US$36-million, received Ghana's Order of the Volta award
  • The Palms: Nigeria's first regional shopping mall, 25 356m2, which was completed at a cost of US$50-million and was named the FDI "Africa Deal of the Year, 2004" by The Financial Times
